The story of Altiont
In 2024 I set out to identify the skills and practices that differentiate my most successful clients, those that made remarkable, sustained changes in executive coaching, therapy, and performance psychology. I was curious about the clients, who after some time working together, would eagerly come to a session to describe a challenge they recently encountered, articulate the skill or processes from our work that they applied to the situation, and then reported a fantastic outcome. Clients would then thank me profusely and note how helpful I had been. The reality is, at that point I am simply a witness to the amazing growth and change individuals are affecting on their own.  Â

I identified psychological mindedness, emotional regulation, and psychological flexibility, well established constructs in psychology, as the processes my high achieving clients were demonstrating in our work. Not surprisingly, these skills and strategies are associated with many markers of well-being and healthy functioning. Performance Psychology training at Altiont makes these skills explicit and supports individuals in attaining desired goals and performance outcomes.
